Minnesotans are moving right along to drive into law, common sense protections called aptly “Prove it First”. Before copper-sulfide mining would be permitted, the company would have to show proof they won’t pollute. Today the Friends of the Boundary Waters Wilderness held a press conference announcing the reintroduction of Prove it First into the 2022 Minnesota legislature.

What is our most precious resource?

The answer is more apparent than you think.

It’s water.

Water is indispensable. Most of us take this for granted because water is all around us — especially in Minnesota. Yet the state that humbly brags about being home to 10,000 lakes (actually there are 11,842) faces one of the greatest threats to clean water in a generation.

Let’s do this in Virginia!

We are! Starting at the local level, VACRN and Buckingham County residents have written an ordinance which includes Prove it First language, that would protect against the toxic trespass we know new metallic mining would bring.
